Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Black Belt Safety collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Black Belt Safety is operated by Tekkerwave Technology (“we”, “us”). It applies to blackbeltsafety.com and the courses, tools and services on it.

What we collect

Account details: your name, email address, username and password (stored encrypted), and the account type you choose (student, trainer, consultant or employer).
Purchases and memberships: your membership level, order history, billing name and address. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Training records: courses you start and finish, quiz results, certificates, completion dates and refresher dates. Employers who buy training for a crew can see the records of the people they enroll.
Profiles you publish: if you join as a trainer or consultant, the profile details you choose to show (name, location, specialties, bio, photo, website) are public.
Jobs and applications: job posts you submit, and applications you send, including any résumé you upload. Applications go to the employer who posted the job.
Messages: what you send us by email or through forms (class bookings, trainer applications, quote requests).
Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and cookies, collected automatically when you use the site.

OSHA inspection data

The OSHA Data tools show inspection, violation and penalty records published by the U.S. Department of Labor. These are public government records about employers and worksites. We copy them from the Department of Labor’s public data service, we do not create them, and we are not affiliated with OSHA or the Department of Labor. If you believe a record is wrong, the source agency is the place to correct it; tell us as well and we will review how it appears on our site.

How we use information

To run your account, deliver courses, issue and verify certificates, and keep training records.
To process payments, renewals, refunds and receipts.
To connect students and employers with trainers, and job seekers with employers.
To send account, billing and refresher-reminder emails. Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Certificate verification

Each certificate has an ID. Anyone who has that ID can use our Verify page to confirm the certificate holder’s name, the course and the completion date. Nothing else from your account is shown.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service:

Service providers: Stripe (payments), DreamHost (web hosting), Google (email delivery), and analytics or security tools we use on the site. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
People you choose to deal with: trainers you book, employers you apply to, and the employer or organization that enrolled you in training.
Legal reasons: when required by law, court order or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
Business transfer: if the business is sold or merged, your information may move with it under this policy.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cart and settings, and measure how the site is used. Analytics tools (for example Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity) may record pages visited and general device information. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; some features, like signing in and checkout, will not work without them.

How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is open. Training records and certificates are kept for at least five years after completion so they can be verified, unless you ask us to delete them and no legal reason requires us to keep them. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires.

Your choices and rights

View and update your details any time in My Account.
Cancel your membership any time in Membership & Billing.
Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account by emailing support@blackbeltsafety.com. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, and payment processing through Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.

Children

Black Belt Safety is meant for adults and working-age learners. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the site or by email.
